Meet Stephen Curran

Stephen Curran is a long-time North Shore resident, business lawyer, and father of two who is running to become the next Member of Parliament for North Vancouver– Capilano.

Stephen lives with his wife, Shubha, and their two children in Central Lonsdale, in the heart of the riding he seeks to represent. By raising his family and running his business on the North Shore, he has a firsthand understanding of the challenges local families face: the rising cost of living, housing that is increasingly out of reach for the next generation, concerns about crime and public safety, and frustration with infrastructure that has not kept pace with growth.

Stephen’s educational credentials include:

  • BA (Honours) in Political Science & Government from the University of Alberta

  • MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from McGill University

Stephen has practised law for more than two decades, beginning his career in New York City before returning to Canada in 2010. Over the course of his career, he has advised public and private organizations on complex files, including mergers and acquisitions, project finance and P3 infrastructure.

He will draw on this deep experience to expertly tackle complex issues for North Vancouver–Capilano, bring people together around practical solutions, and ensure that major initiatives for the riding are delivered responsibly and on time.

He previously stood as the Federal Conservative candidate for North Vancouver–Capilano in the 2025 election, earning the strongest Conservative result in the riding in over a decade.

In this by-election, he is once again stepping forward because he believes local residents deserve a strong voice and a truly local representative in Parliament.

Stephen believes our community’s prosperity depends on creating opportunities for the next generation, protecting what families have earned and built, and ensuring the safety of all North Shore residents.

He is committed to standing with the North Shore’s vibrant Persian-Canadian community, supporting stronger action against foreign interference and the removal of agents of the Iranian regime from Canada.

He is running to ensure the voices of North Shore residents are heard and to help build a more affordable, safe, and prosperous future for the next generation.
